Micronations are little part of countries or states, which have declared independance. These are usually only made by eccentric individuals but some are made by small minority groups. Although they aren't recognised as real countries or states some have more members than countries in the UN.
1b. Most people make these small countries for some independance. Is it just coincidence that most of these people live in America. Maybe not. Some people like saying that they belong to their own country, whilse some live in small towns, who have decided to call temselves a state or country.
1c. The characteristics of these micronations are eccentric individuals, who want to a minority and don't wan to be just like everybody else.
2. One of the good micronations is the kingdom of Talossa, which was founded in 1979 in North America. This nation was founded peacefully and doesn't consider themselves a micronation and won't interact with other micronations. Other micronation are the Aerican Empire, which have a senate and an inner council - which is ruled by the Emperor. They also have many laws which they strickly stick by. The Aerican Empire is maily ruled by their Emporer.
3. One micronation in Australia is the Hutt River Province which is situated in Western Australia. There is a lot of micronations around the Pacific due to the small island around the area. Another strange fact is that one of this micronations was formed when someone won it in a poker game.
4. With all these micronation they need a form of a law wether it

Writing Task 3
Topic 1
There is one things that really is annoying me this season and it is the constant whinging by the football club the Collingwood Magpies. This time I am going to talk about their whinging of the away jumpers. They whinge that it is tradition, but when you look at it, didn't Collingwood change their jumper in 2001. They're jumper before hand was white with black stripes. This jumper didn't clash with Port Adelaide, St. Kilda, Carlton, Richmond and Essendon, sure it clashed with the Kangaroos, but isn't one better than five?
When you look at the Kangaroos, they made an alternative jumper and it has made then some extra cash. When Collingwood play Port Adelaide in 2000, did anyone ever complain about a clash between the two sides, they surely didn't so why should the team who didn't change their jumper beforehand be made to wear a different jumper.
The AFL should enforce the rule of different jumpers for jumper clashes, and teams like Collingwood should learn to take things like real men.
There was an interesting page in The Age today and you should really tak a look at it.

Topic 2
Another topic for concern is the salry cap. It annoys that the crew for Collingwood - Eddie McGuire are always suking about it. They rant and rave about how they have a hard time compared to the northern states who they say are on hand outs. In my opinion Collingwood should shut up! They don't have a hard go of it in the AFL, they have Anzac Day clashes with Essendon, which is one of the biggest paydays for these two clubs because it always a sellout. Collingwood have access to the blockbusters, games on Friday and Saturday nights, which bring in the big bucks, while teams like the Bulldogs, the Demons and the Kangaroos are forced to play their home games up in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra just so they can get the close to the same pay day.
Look at the turnovers that Collingwood get that teams would be envious of. Some teams in the competition have to struggle to keep afloat in the competition and can't afford to play their players that much so that why there is a salary cap. We don't want to turn the game into a English Premier League where their is three teams they always finish top.
Finally my last point is the free to air TV games. Collingwood have an atoshining 21 games (not including finals) that are shown on free to air TV, whilse Geelong have only 11. This is plainly not fair the AFL should bring in a rule were every team gets a minimum amount of games because at the moment it is a joke.
In conclusion Collingwood should stop whinging, they don't know how good they have got it.

Topic 3
While I am on the subject of sport I might as well keep on writing about it. Cricket in Zimbabwe. The comment speaks for itself, should Australia go over into Zimbabwe and play crciket whilse there is so much unrest and turmoil in the country which is caused by the Mugabe Regime.
In my opinion cricket is cricket and politics is politics, I believe that the Australian cricket would do more for the state of cricket in Zimbabwe (which is in disaray), if they play cricket there and tried to help out the cricket academy's in Zimbabawe if they stayed and played test cricket against the Zimbabians. What can they show if they leave that the Australians run out if the going gets tough, they should of stood firm and said that they will not run out on an another struggling Test Team.
When the decision was made both parties struck a deal that three one day internationals would still be played, why not just stay an extra fortnight and play those test matches.
If you want to see what is happening with Australian cricket visit the website

Topic 4
The last topic I am going to write about is the NBA basketball and NBL basketball. If you try to compare the two different associations there is no comparisions. NBA has big guys who can get as big as 7'5. In the AFL if you have a guy who is 200 centimeters, then they walk around with no co - ordination while NBA players look like players who could do any track or field event in athletics.
Another thing about NBA is the fact that you have to be big to play in the league. Someone who is 6'4 is now a pint size player who is used sparingly off the bench.
Andrew Gaze was recently voted the best ever player in NBL history. When Andrew was playing in the NBA is was mostly used to hit clutch threes. Not bagging Gaze here but he can't play any defence. That is my NBA isn't just a different ballpark, it's a different country.

Radhik's blog is the blog I'm going to comment on. He has written some interesting facts on his blog, and they're a joy to read. Something negative is that at the start he repeats Task 2 over and over again.

Blog Writing Task 2
The issue that I have chosen is whether gays and lesbians should be able to marry, with this being bombed into "letters to the editors" section I decided that this would be an easy topic to research. This first letter I've got has been written by Deen Caleb, once you read it you don't have to be a brain surgeon to realise that he doesn't like gays and suggests that it should be outlawed and put deep into the closet - where it belongs. This person could be called a savior for some but most will tell you he is narrow minded.
The second letter is written by Vikki Duncan, she writes how the people who had the final say on this issue are small minded. She tells John Howard that it is time to go and if she is a law abiding citizen why can't she marry the love of her life.
The last letter I am going to write about is written by R.H Droughton. He writes about a high profile bishop Niemoller who fought against the Nazi regime. He said "First they came for the gays, but I was not gay so I said nothing", this is just an extract from a famous quote of Niemoller, the writer continues onto say that the gays and lesbians will fight for you one day and they are also apart of our families.
My opinion is that Johnny Howard should just allow it. It doesn't affect him in any way, and I don't believe that banning it will help the situation, it will just make the gays in uproar.

Movie Review - Goodfellas

I've always liked gangstar movies and TV shows. Movies like The Godfather 1, 2 and 3, The Untouchables , Goodfellasand TV shows like The Sopranos. I like these movies because of the power these people have over everybody else. The stories they tell and the unique personalities that are involved in thier business. The movie I am going to review is Goodfellas. This criticically acclaimed movie about a man's life in he mob world, his stories about him whacking people, making business deals and short changing people due to his reputation. The review that I'm going to review Goodefflas which can be found at a href="http://www.geocities.com/amensoccer/reviews/rvgoodf.html. The author of this review puts his opinion across that this film isn't for everyone and that if you don't like violent or long movies than this movie isn't for you. This is a black comedy and has terrific actors, like Deniro, Liotta and Joe Pesci who was brilliant in his role as a short tempered gangstar and fooled you into believing that he could be like that in real life. (Maybe that's what got him his roles in the Home Alone movies.) The reviewer doesn't like the music in the film, saying that the pop songs don't relly fit the scenes. He likes though Ray Liotta's character and Lorraine Braccco character sharing the narration of the story. He also wrote that he found himself laughing hard about the situations that the characters are in. The person who wrote this review is a fan of this movie, and movies by Scorcese because he writes that he enjoyed this movie like he enjoyed Taxi Driver (another Scorcese film). I agree with this film review in many ways, I didn't think the soundtrack fitted the movie, like Taxi Driver didn't when I watched it. So overall I think this ereview was frank and fair about the movie

Blog Task 5
1. I do agree with Sinclair's propersition that blogs are 'providing a sense of community'. People like to read other people views and have comfort that a unknown person to them is reading, what they are writing about. Therefore there is an community happening with no face - to - face interaction, just a virtual world with nobody judging about what you are writing about. Some blogs that are like this are Cincom Smalltalk Community Blogs which is a website which allows people to feel like they are belonging to something. Another is surefish.co.uk which is a sort of Christian based community blog.
2. A blog about September 11 that I found was nyc bloggers. It gives New Yorkians the chance to put in what they believe about that fateful day in 2001.

Yours Truly

Kieran Anglim

Blog Task 4
1. I think the medium of the message means the body of the message, what it is actually about.
2. Marshall McLuhan was an outspoken character who belived that the teaching of education was not done correctly. Some of his quotes are money is the poor man’s credit card, mud sometimes gives the illusion of depth and The answers are always inside the problem, not outside.
3. I believe that the Hypertext theory is to breakdown writing into an shorter medium so it is easier to read. maybe Sinclair means how connected the world is now doe to the internet, so many people connected up to the same source.
4. Afternoon by Michael Joyce is a electronic fiction, a story about how a man see's a wrecked car that might of belong to his wife. I think it this book the writer is trying to show the distance between the present and your memory.

Blog task 3
1. You can read blogs about many different things, like someone talking about the latest cricket match while someone else talks about how Labor will defeat the Liberals at the next election. But, most blogs are about how somebody feels or thinks about something or what they are doing or plan to do today these types of blogs can be found at www.blogger.com
2. I reckon a good blog is one that has a point not one that drifts on with no real purpose. When they have no real purpose the reader will think to itself "why am i reading this". The blogs that i enjoy the most are the ones that are written on an issue so i can see thier point of view, and decided which side I am going to take. To make a list of the qualities the first would be the spelling, punctuation and grammer and then probably the structure of the piece of writing. If it was an essay then it would be the information on hand and if that essay was arguementative, does the writer really persuade you to thing that way.
3. Some blogs that i have read are blood in your mouth which is some guys wierd intake of life. Another one is One of ours which has on it all of the casualties of the Iraq war and how many have died from each country. The last is Laugh it Up, another person complaining about how his sister and Mum continue to fight.
4. I think he means that even though the stories don't have a lot of quality that are still authentic and original.

Yours Truly

Kieran Anglim

Blog Task 2
1. In my opinion Moveable Type is the blog - related website which is the most is most like blogger.com its has similarities in the structure and look of the website. While the other two Pitas.com and Dairyland don't look as polished as the other two do.
2. The reason why blogging has been more popular is that there is more sites around and people want to get thier opinion across and make themselves feel important. It is getting easier and easier to make a well published site on the internet and people seem be really energetic to get thier opinion across to these websites. If you want to visit some of these sites go to google then type the name of the website into the search engine.

Yours Truly

Kieran Anglim

Blog Task 1
G'day Mr Bulfin,
My name is Kieran Anglim and was apart of your class last year. In case you have lost this profile which I did last year I will begin to write it out again just for your enjoyment.
Like last year I live in Glen Waverley just about, a fifteen minute walk from the school. I have two older brothers David who studying economics at Deakin and Nick " the red head" who is attempting his final year of school, at this illustrious school Highvale. I also have a little sister who is at Weeden Heights Primary School.
Normally now you should write your hobbies and that is what I am planning to do. I played footy for the Glen Waverley Hawks, but I'll probably be playing for Forest Hill. I also play cricket for Forest Hill and we are currently second on the later and will be hopefully contesting the finals later on in March sometime. I play basketball for the EBEES, but unfortunately our team is stuck right down the ladder. I play in the EFL which site is www.efl.org.au. I also play in the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association which site you can access by clicking on the name of the league. My basketball league doesn't have a website but I recommend that you check out the NBA website which can be found at www.nba.com.
My favourite movies would be Lock, Stock and two smoking barrels, Snatch, Road Trip and Fletch. To read a review of Road Trip's website simply just click on the website - http://www.ram.org/ramblings/movies/road_trip.html. My favourite computers games are ones which include sport in them. This games are Rugby 2001, Cricket 2002, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2002. This games are all done by EA Sports and you can visit the website By clicking on EA Sports. I also like games called Shane Warne Cricket 99 and Championship Manager 4.
My favourite music can be found at the Triple M website . I like this station because it plays a lot of local music as well as good bands from overseas. My favourite bands are - The Living End, Powderfinger, Grinspoon, Jebediah, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Green Day, Good Charlotte, Incubus, Linkin Park, The Darkness, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Pearl Jam and the early music of Oasis. I like rock and some heavy rock but not death metal. I extremely dislike Pop music and rap.
Seeing that I can't think of anything to write about I have decided that I will end this biography of myself.

Yours Truly

Kieran Anglim

Australia v Zimbabwe was cancelled last night when rain interrupted the game and ZImbabwe couldn't start thier innings.
